ABOUT US
Rhino Down is a high-energy Rock Variety cover party band based in the Central Indiana area. Formed in POST-COVID ERA OF 2021, we are a fresh, 80/90s/2000s band that covers popular artists like The Cars, The Cure, Gin Blossoms, Simple Minds, Alanis Morissette, Luke Combs, Shania Twain, B-52s, Chapell Roan, Dua Lipa, Killers, Stevie Nicks & Paramore for example!
We play songs that the all-ages crowd loves! We have award-winning talented vocalists and most include up to 3-part harmonies! The rest of the band is rounded out with keys, two guitars, bass and drums. We provide the PA and Lights.
We have played many great venues such as Back 9 Golf, Britton Tavern, Ale Emporiums - Castleton, GrEENWOOD and Fishers, whiskey business - Lawrence & Southport, Wolfies - Geist & Morse, Joe's Grille, Carmel Porchfest, Belgian Horse Winery, BROCKWAY PUB/St. PAT'S PARTIES, Bier Brewery Noblesville, & 317 BBQ to name a few.

MEET THE BAND!
Amanda
Lead Vocalist
Amanda is an Indiana-born soprano with a B.A. in Vocal Performance, known for her passion, versatility, and engaging stage presence. Trained in multiple languages and styles, she has performed in classical concerts, operas, cabarets, pop ensembles, and with the Indiana University Southeast Orchestra and Brass Band. Amanda was twice invited to sing at IU Southeast’s commencement and performed for the Chancellor’s Installation and Medallion Dinner. She also advocates for accessible music education, creating support services for students with dyslexia. A soloist performer since 2018, she was recently crowned the US Karaoke Association’s Indiana State Champion and National Finalist in Las Vegas!
Robyn
Vocals/Percussion/Harmonica
As a SiNGER, dancer and zumba instructor, music has always been a passion for Robyn. She loves entertaining! engaging the crowd in line-dancing and little 'routines' with Amanda are some of her favorite things about performing with Rhino Down . She enjoys a variety of music but especially loves bands like the Gin Blossoms, Fleetwood Mac, and Steely Dan. Robyn previously performed with the bands Empty Suits, Sabotaged, Full Tilt, Heather's Exes and Two Dollar Cover. Robyn has lived in Indiana since 2019 and is a stay-at-home-mom to two teens (and two fur babies)!
Tommy
Lead Guitar
Playing guitar has been his “soul” focus since he was in high school! When not guitar shopping, he’s an avid football and movie fan!
Mike
Bass
Starting with playing music in high school on a six string guitar as most kids do, Mike discovered he was always messing around on the top E string like you would on a bass guitar. He started playing the bass thereafter and has never looked back! A true bassist, Mike's musical bass guitar influences are Dusty Hill/ZZ Top, and Tina Weymouth/Talking Heads. He credits Les Claypool of Primus and the immortal jazz-fusion bassist Stanley Clarke as providing inspiration for his bass playing approach. A true student of his art, one can expect to see Mike playing anything from a classic Fender P bass to a German Warwick (for that funk sound!) to an electric upright bass during a Rhino Down performance. In his day job, Mike serves as President for Indiana's largest sod production company!
Sam
Keyboards
As a life long musician, Sam has been playing piano since childhood and eventually expanded into guitar and vocals before settling behind the keys and synth. With a background in tech and a natural curiosity for learning new things, he brings a practical, easygoing perspective both on and off the stage; along with a quiet appreciation for music theory. His influences range from classic artists like Elton John and The Eagles to Coldplay, John Mayer, Bon Iver, along with classical composers including Debussy, Mozart, and Bach. Music has always been a constant in his life and the perfect excuse to share a stage, a song, and a good time with others!
Brian
Drums
Brian, an Air Force veteran and a Surgical X-Ray Technologist, has played with "Betrayed With A Kiss," "Steel Aggressor," "Replaced X Robots," "Countdown to Delirium" as well as various churches over many years! He enjoys drumming heavy metal in his spare time because he likes the challenge. Hailing from Greentown, Indiana, he has lived in 8 states and is an avid swimmer, water skier and has been a drummer all of his life.
